TUF 15: Episode 2 notes and results

Episode 2- March 16, 2012
The fighters enter the house and look around. Michael Chiesa finds champagne and is excited to be in the Ultimate Fighter house.
Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber pick their teams. Team Urijah Faber wins the coin toss and elect to choose the first fight match-up rather than picking the first fighter.
Dominick Cruz picks Justin Lawrence (3-0) first overall.
Urijah Faber picks Al Iaquinta (5-1-1) as his first pick, second overall. Iaquinta trains with Matt Serra and Ray Longo in New York.
Dominick Cruz picks Sam Sicilia (10-0) as his second pick, third overall.
Urijah Faber picks Cristiano Marcello (12-3) as his second pick, fourth overall. Marcello has trained out of the Chute Boxe academy in Brazil.
Dominick Cruz picks Myles Jury (9-0) as his third pick, fifth overall.
Urijah Faber picks Daron Cruickshank (10-2) as his third pick, sixth overall.
Dominick Cruz picks Mike Rio (8-1) as his fourth pick, seventh overall.
Urijah Faber picks Joe Proctor (7-1) as his fourth pick, eighth overall. Faber says Proctor comes under high recommendation from Joe Lauzon.
Dominick Cruz picks James Vick (4-0) as his fifth pick, ninth overall. Vick says this is the first time he’s been able to train full-time and not work a second job.
Urijah Faber picks Michael Chiesa (7-0) as his fifth pick, tenth overall.
Dominick Cruz picks Vinc Pichel (7-0) as his sixth pick, eleventh overall.
Urijah Faber picks John Cofer (7-1) as his sixth pick, twelfth overall.
Dominick Cruz picks Chris Tickle (7-4) as his seventh pick, thirteenth overall. Tickle says he believes he is one of the top 4 fighters on the show and is upset he was chosen thirteenth.
Urijah Faber picks Andy Ogle (8-1) as his seventh pick, fourteenth overall.
Dominick Cruz picks Jeremy Larsen (8-2) as his eighth and final pick, fifteenth overall.
Urijah Faber automatically gets Chris Saunders (4-1) as his eighth pick, sixteenth and final fighter.
Urijah Faber is shown training with his team. Andy Ogle, John Cofer and Chris Saunders are all very happy to be on Team Faber.
Dominick Cruz is shown training with his team. UFC fighters Phil Davis and Ross Pearson are coaches for Team Cruz. Cruz says he wants to see what Chris Tickle is made out of, so he has him train with his number one pick, Justin Lawrence.  Tickle and Lawrence are happy to be on Team Cruz. Myles Jury says he has trained with Cruz before in San Diego.
Both teams come together to announce the first fight. Urijah Faber confronts Dominick Cruz about an interview he conducted where Faber says Cruz had made a remark about Faber’s parents buying him his first gym. Faber says he did not have help from his parents to buy the gym. Faber says that Cruz has upset his parents. Cruz says that he apologizes and does not want to talk about Faber’s family.
Urijah Faber announces James Vick (4-0, Team Cruz) versus Daron Cruickshank (10-2, Team Faber)
Team Faber is shown working on wrestling in the gym. Michael Chiesa is pulled aside and told to call his mother. Chiesa’s mother informs him that his father has died. Chiesa says he had a form of cancer called AML. Chiesa goes to his friend Sam Sicilia for consolation. Sicilia and Chiesa trained together before TUF. Dana White allows Chiesa to travel home to see his family and return the next day, after the funeral.
James Vick says he was very poor growing up and his only desire is to be a world champion fighter. Cruz says Vick’s game-plan will be to avoid takedowns and keep it a stand-up fight. Lloyd Irvin is a coach on Team Cruz and helps Vick with his jiu-jitsu.
Daron Cruickshank is from Detroit, Michigan and his parents were both martial artists. Cruickshank is shown training.
Michael Chiesa returns to the house and says he feels extra motivated to win TUF.
James Vick (4-0, Team Cruz) v. Daron Cruickshank (10-2, Team Faber)
Round 1- Cruickshank lands an early uppercut as the fighters look to find their range.  Vick landed a huge knee on a shooting Cruickshank and knocked him unconscious.

Vick’s victory can be considered an upset as he was Dominick Cruz’ 5th pick and 9th pick overall while Cruickshank was Faber’s 3rd pick and the 6th overall selection.
Jon Anik interviews Vick after the fight. Vick is happy he has gained fight pick control for Team Cruz. Cruickshank is asked about the fight but says he doesn’t remember too much and will have to watch it.
Dominick Cruz picks Justin Lawrence to fight for his team and allows Urijah Faber to pick any member of his team to face him. Faber asks his team who is ready to fight and can’t decide whom to pick. Cruz asks him if he wants him to pick for him and Faber agrees. Cruz picks Cristiano Marcello.
Justin Lawrence (3-0, Team Cruz, @theamericankidd) v. Cristiano Marcello (12-3, Team Faber, @CristianoBJJ) is the fight that will take place next week.
