The Social Network, an instant-classic.

The Social Network is the story of the creation of Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, played brilliantly by Jesse Eisenberg. Zuckerberg is a Harvard student who is dumped by his girlfriend in the film’s opening scene. The witty and fast-paced dialogue instantly draws you into this film. Written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, The Social Network had key components to a success before shooting began.

We follow Mark Zuckerberg as he runs back to his dorm room after the opening scene and begins to create the beginnings of what would become Facebook. Zuckerberg enlists his friend Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield) to help him along his way but soon becomes entranced with Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake) when Facebook finds success. The power struggle between Saverin and Parker is apparent with Zuckerberg standing on the sidelines.

Jesse Eisenberg is brilliant as Mark Zuckerberg. His dead-eyed expression and calculated delivery turns Zuckerberg into a very compelling anti-hero. Eisenberg deserves an Oscar nomination for his performance. Armie Hammer as both Winklevoss twins was also impressive and provided the film with a great deal of its humor.
