Mr. McMahon Netflix Series: Shedding Light on Wrestling’s Most Controversial Figure

The new Netflix limited series on Vince McMahon, Mr. McMahon, is currently streaming, and it has been the talk of the wrestling world. The series, which explores the life and career of the WWE Chairman, was a major point of discussion between Dave Simon and Johnny North.

Dave Simon kicked off the discussion, saying, “The Netflix series is finally here, and it’s already causing waves. Vince McMahon is one of the most polarizing figures in professional wrestling, and this series shows us a side of him that we’ve never seen before.”

Johnny North expressed his excitement about the deeper look into McMahon’s life but also questioned how much of the series would be influenced by WWE’s control over the narrative. “There’s no denying Vince’s impact on the wrestling world, but with WWE’s history of controlling their image, I’m curious to see if they’ll dive into the controversies. We need to see more than just his business successes; they have to touch on the steroid trial, the Montreal Screwjob, and the more recent allegations.”

The audience was also engaged in this conversation. One viewer commented, “I’m only a couple of episodes in, but I already feel like they’re glossing over some of the darker stuff. Will they really get into the allegations from last year?” Another fan added, “I just want to see more about the Monday Night Wars and how he dealt with WCW beating WWE in the ratings for all those weeks.”

Simon responded to fan concerns, saying, “I think as the series goes on, we’ll get a clearer picture of who Vince is. They’ve already covered a lot of ground in just a few episodes, but I do hope they don’t shy away from the more controversial moments.”

Johnny North agreed, adding, “This is Vince McMahon we’re talking about. The guy built WWE into what it is today, but you can’t ignore the baggage. If Netflix can balance that, it could be one of the best wrestling documentaries out there.”

WWE Bad Blood: Anticipation Builds for the Return of a Classic

The hosts then shifted gears to talk about WWE Bad Blood, which is returning after a 20-year hiatus. Scheduled for next week in Atlanta, this event promises to bring the heat, with matches like Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre headlining the card.

Johnny North was pumped for the event, particularly for the Rollins-McIntyre match. “This match is going to be insane. Rollins is on fire right now, and Drew has been looking for that one big win to put him back on top. These two have great chemistry, and I think we’re in for a classic.”

Dave Simon agreed, adding, “Bad Blood has always been about intense rivalries, and Rollins and McIntyre have exactly that. There’s been real tension between these two, and this feels like the perfect stage to blow it off.”

The fans were just as excited. One viewer said, “Rollins vs. McIntyre is going to steal the show. Drew needs a big win, but Rollins has been too good to drop the belt right now.” Another fan chimed in, “I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some interference from Judgment Day. They’ve been all over Raw lately, and Bad Blood seems like the right place for them to make an impact.”

The conversation also touched on the potential for surprise returns. Johnny North speculated, “With Bad Blood being such a big event, don’t be shocked if someone like Randy Orton or even Brock Lesnar makes a return. WWE loves pulling out all the stops for these shows.”

Dave Simon added, “And let’s not forget about the women’s division. Rhea Ripley has been dominating, but I’m sure there’s going to be some new challenges on the horizon at Bad Blood.”

AEW Grand Slam: MJF’s Toughest Test and the End of the FTW Championship

Next up was AEW Grand Slam, the two-part special currently airing on Dynamite and Collision. The event kicked off on September 25, 2024, at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York and featured some huge moments, including the retirement of the FTW Championship and the AEW debut of MVP.

Dave Simon was particularly excited about the MJF vs. Samoa Joe match for the AEW World Championship. “MJF is facing his biggest challenge yet. Samoa Joe is a killer in that ring, and this match at Grand Slam could be the toughest test of MJF’s career.”

Johnny North agreed, saying, “MJF has been on a roll, but Joe is not going to go easy on him. This is going to be a hard-hitting match, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe walks out with the belt.”

Fans were buzzing about the FTW Championship’s retirement. One viewer commented, “It’s the end of an era with the FTW title being retired. I’ve always loved that belt, and it’s crazy to think we’ll never see it defended again.” Another fan added, “The FTW Championship has always been a rebel’s title, so it makes sense that Taz’s son, Hook, was the last guy to hold it.”

The AEW debut of MVP also got fans talking. “MVP coming to AEW is huge! He’s a game-changer, and I can’t wait to see what he does next,” said one viewer. Another fan added, “AEW just keeps bringing in big names, and MVP is going to make an impact for sure.”

AEW Pays Tribute to the Dreamer Antonio Inoki at last year’s WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream: A Tribute to Antonio Inoki

Rounding out the discussion was AEW’s upcoming WrestleDream event, scheduled for October 1, 2024. The show will again be a tribute to the late Antonio Inoki, the founder of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and a true legend in the wrestling world.

Johnny North was thrilled about the tribute aspect, saying, “Inoki’s legacy is massive, and it’s great to see AEW honouring him with this event. WrestleDream could be a sleeper hit, especially if we see some crossover with NJPW talent.”

Dave Simon agreed, adding, “This could be a huge night for AEW. If they bring in stars like Okada or Tanahashi, we’re looking at some serious dream matches. WrestleDream has the potential to be a game-changer for AEW.”

The Ringside Report Universe, Wrestling Uncensored viewers were equally excited, with one commenting, “AEW and NJPW together again? Sign me up! This is going to be a can’t-miss event.” Another added, “I’m hoping we get some big surprises at WrestleDream. AEW always delivers on these big shows, and this should be no different.”

Fans in the chat were all-in for the Super Show, with one saying, “I can’t wait to hang out with you guys for the watch along. It’s always a blast!” Another viewer added, “This is going to be one of the best weekends for wrestling and UFC fans. I’m ready!”

Sean Strickland Banned From the White House? UFC Vegas 118 Picks & PPV Dies in Canada

Belal Muhammad vs Gabriel Bonfim Preview + Sean Strickland’s White House War

No UFC champion has ever done what Sean Strickland is doing right now. Ten days before UFC Freedom 250 on the White House lawn, the two-time middleweight champion — fresh off handing Khamzat Chimaev his first loss — says he’s blacklisted from the event and is publicly torching it, trading vicious social media barbs with main eventer Justin Gaethje along the way. Meanwhile, Saturday’s UFC Vegas 118 main event is a genuine crossroads: Belal Muhammad, 37 and on two straight decision losses, meets Gabriel Bonfim, a 28-year-old Brazilian finisher at 19-1, with the betting markets split almost exactly down the middle. WWE Clash in Italy Results: Roman Reigns Retains, Sol Ruca Shocks Becky Lynch

WWE Clash in Italy delivered a solid premium live event from Turin — but the matches that were supposed to be the showcase underdelivered, the match nobody circled stole the night, and the most important wrestling moment of the entire weekend didn’t even happen on WWE programming. Sol Ruca snatched the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Becky Lynch. Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill had the best match on the card. Cody vs Gunther and Brock vs Oba Femi left plenty on the table. We break down every match, hand out grades, and lay out exactly where WWE goes from here.

Colby’s Gone, Dana’s Wrong, and UFC Freedom 250 Has Real Problems

Three stories are colliding in MMA right now, and none of them are particularly flattering for the sport. Colby Covington is out of the UFC after going once-a-year for five years and losing four of his last six — then finding himself off the White House guest list despite being Trump’s loudest MMA supporter for a decade. Trump’s actual favorite fighter? Khabib. UFC Freedom 250 is June 14 on the White House lawn with Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje and Alex Pereira vs. Cyril Gane, but the UFC is running its own judges with no government athletic commission in place, it’s going to be 80-plus degrees outside with insects swarming the lights, and 50,000 people are watching on outdoor screens nearby. And Dana White told Time magazine that people who talk about their mental health publicly are giving young men permission to be weak. It’s the most dangerous thing he’s said in years — and the most revealing.
