Netflix Buys Warner Bros.
Netflix Buys Warner Bros: What It Really Means for AEW and WWE Broadcasting
Netflix buying Warner Bros Discovery represents the biggest media consolidation in decades, and the wrestling world immediately panicked about AEW’s future. But is the sky really falling? With WWE secured on Netflix through 2035 and AEW currently on Warner Bros’ TBS, TNT, and HBO Max, the proposed deal splits AEW’s distribution between Netflix (streaming) and Discovery Global (linear cable). The internet declared AEW finished. Dave Simon from Wrestling Uncensored pushed back hard. The reality: AEW has a guaranteed contract through 2027, Netflix could easily afford both wrestling companies, and Canadian broadcast rights remain completely stable. The three-year, $555 million AEW deal costs a fraction of WWE’s $5 billion Netflix contract. Multiple streaming platforms could accommodate AEW when rights expire in 2028. Panic is premature.

AJ Lee’s Return Sparks WWE vs. AEW Ratings War, All Out vs. Wrestlepalooza!
AJ Lee Returns to WWE as Wrestling War Erupts: Complete Breakdown of WWE vs AEW September 20th Counter-Programming Battle AJ Lee shocked the wrestling world with her return to WWE SmackDown in Chicago, setting up a blockbuster mixed tag team match while simultaneously igniting the biggest counter-programming battle between WWE and AEW since the Monday Night Wars. With both promotions staging major events on September 20th, wrestling fans are witnessing a modern-day ratings war that has already seen strategic moves and surprising developments. AJ Lee’s Return Sparks Mixed Reactions from Wrestling Insiders After years away from professional wrestling, AJ Lee made her dramatic return on SmackDown in Chicago, attacking Becky Lynch to defend her real-life husband CM Punk. The moment transforms the ongoing CM Punk vs Seth Rollins rivalry into a compelling mixed tag team storyline, though reactions from wrestling observers reveal sharp divisions about its potential. “I like AJ Lee,” admitted Dave Simon on Wrestling Uncensored Episode 748, though he tempered expectations. “She was in a different era. She had some skills, some talent and athleticism, and I’d like to see what she could do against Becky.” However, co-host Johnny North expressed considerable skepticism about AJ’s in-ring capabilities after her extended absence: “I can’t say like a match that really stands out where I’m like, oh, that was an amazing match from AJ Lee. I can’t think of any off top my head.”

Jericho’s Dilemma, Clash in Paris and Forbidden Door Delivers: Wrestling Uncensored Episode 747
In this episode of Wrestling Uncensored, co-hosts Dave Simon and Pro Wrestler Genesis Johnny North deliver their unfiltered take on the combat sports world, beginning with a deep dive into the fallout from AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The hosts were in agreement on the overall score for the event, but their opinions diverged on specific matches, with Simon praising the insanity of the steel cage match and Johnny North championing the standout performance of Bozilla in the women’s four-way bout. The conversation then shifts to the persistent rumors surrounding Chris Jericho and a potential return to WWE when his AEW contract expires. Simon and North find themselves on opposite sides of the debate, with North arguing that Jericho has “unfinished business” in AEW and should conclude his storylines, while Simon advocates for a harder line, suggesting AEW should use his remaining time to elevate younger talent. The episode culminates with a detailed breakdown of the six-match card for WWE’s Clash in Paris, complete with predictions and analysis of the fervent French crowd’s reactions to stars like John Cena and Logan Paul. It’s a comprehensive look at the world of professional wrestling, only on the Ringside Report Network.

Forbidden Door 2025 Preview: Hangman vs. MJF, Cena’s Final Tour and WWE’s Creative Problems
Wrestling Uncensored hosts Dave Simon and Johnny North delivered their most passionate debate of the year while previewing Sunday’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door from London’s O2 Arena. The duo clashed over whether “Timeless” Toni Storm should retain her Women’s World Championship against Athena, with Simon delivering a fiery defense: “Tony Storm is a superstar – she makes the championship important, she makes the division important. Athena’s promos are terrible compared to Storm’s, which are some of the best in the business.” But the real fireworks came during their analysis of WWE’s backstage culture, as Simon raised serious concerns about Triple H’s behavior on WWE Untold. “He’s holding them very close, whispering in their ears while they’re basically in their gear,” Simon observed about Triple H’s extended embraces with wrestlers. “It’s not a workplace thing – this is like a power move.” From Hangman Page’s “magnificent” title reign that has him “crushing promos” against MJF, to potential dream matches featuring the “fucking good team” of Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Darby Allin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Will Ospreay, the hosts delivered their most comprehensive wrestling analysis yet. Plus: Chris Jericho’s rumored WWE return, John Cena’s farewell tour strategy, and why Simon thinks WWE’s comedy segments are “cringy” disasters that ruin otherwise solid programming.
