Ospreay vs Moxley: The Death Riders Problem
Ospreay asked for this match himself, and the reason is personal: Moxley was the last man to pin him in the center of an AEW ring. The stipulations make it messier. Sixty minutes is a lot of time, and the Death Riders at ringside is a recipe for interference.
The Death Riders are also the more interesting story on Dynamite. Pac and Gabe Kidd were much more aggressive toward Ospreay this week, wanting to destroy him for what he did, while Moxley, the one actually wrestling him, was the calmest and kindest of the three. That gives Pac a voice. I haven’t heard him talk in ages, and suddenly he has a creative direction: unhappy with Moxley for letting Ospreay into the group, then watching him turn on them once he won the world championship.

Johnny North has a fair caveat. Pac is one of the best wrestlers in the world, but he is inconsistent, and if you cannot be there weekly, it hurts your push. He also thought Kidd’s promo was absolutely stupid, and I agree. Kidd’s whole character needs to settle down a notch.
Tag Team Chaos at All Out
The three-way ladder match for the tag titles between Copeland and Cage, the Young Bucks, and FTR should get the biggest reaction. That match alone is better than anything NXT is advertising, or WWE for that matter. Johnny North says it is hard to match against on any show.
There is also the six-man puzzle. Swerve Strickland and The New Level, formerly the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed), have to get past The Demand on Wednesday’s Dynamite to earn a spot against Hangman Page and Brodido. I expect them to win.
The New Level came in late in the gauntlet match at All In and had the freshness advantage, and I want to see them beat Hangman and Brodido when both sides are equally fresh. It is a piece of business that needs to happen so we can move on. Johnny North offers a smart counter: Tony Khan never does what you expect, and this may be a way to write The New Level out of the tag team division.
The Women’s Title Picture Without Mercedes Moné
Mercedes Moné is not medically cleared to wrestle at All Out, so she will defend her title on October 17 at WrestleDream against the winner of Thekla vs Willow Nightingale.
