In the main event Antonio Silva picked up his first UFC victory and handed Travis Browne his first career loss with a first round punch that sent Browne crumbling to the mat. Browne pulled his hamstring after throwing a kick, which may have affected his performance, nonetheless Silva displayed great striking. Jake Ellenberger and the returning Jay Hieron had a lackluster Welterweight bout that rendered Ellenberger the winner after three rounds. John Dodson became the number one contender for Demetrious Johnson’s UFC Flyweight title when he dropped the formally number one ranked Flyweight in the world Jussier Formiga in the second round. In the submission of the night Justin Edwards slapped a guillotine choke on Josh Neer during clinching. Neer attempted to fight it but was choked unconscious for his efforts 45-seconds into the bout. In two come from behind victories, both Michael Johnson and Mike Pierce won second round knockouts. After being dominated in the first round Johnson dropped Danny Castillo while Pierce dropped Aaron Simpson. (Full UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot event results below.)
