27 Dec Weekend in Fights! December 22nd Edition
This Weekend in Fights! (December 22nd, 2012) featured only King of the Cage “Vigilante” live on MAVTV from the San Manuel Casino in Highland, California on Thursday night.
The Light Heavyweight title was up for grabs in the main event, as champion Tony Lopez squared off against challenger Trevor Prangely. Even though the bout was scheduled for five rounds, and it was a decision victory, the bout only went four rounds. Lopez delivered an illegal knee which halted the bout, and as Prangley was unable to continue the judges rendered a decision for the rounds that were completed. Prangley would get the nod winning the rounds according to the judges. This is Prangley’s fourth consecutive victory and he captures the KOTC Light Heavyweight title in the process. After losing a close decision to former champion and current UFC fighter Jared Papazian, Marvin “The Riverside Assassin” Garcia got another opportunity to capture the gold as he faced Justin Robbins for the vacant title. 48-seconds in the second round, Garcia would capture the title as he choked out Robbins with a guillotine choke.

Joshua Aleves knocked out Josh Cisneros in nine seconds,
Roberto Vargas submiited Musa Toliver with a guillotine choke in the second round, and Frank Park picked up a TKO victory over Kenneth Tenorio in 83-seconds of the very first round. (Full King of the Cage – Vigilante event results below.)
