I did not see the first one, musicals are about the performance and presentation, David Simon. I
was surprised there was an engaging, funny at times, story. Maybe I should have watched the
first one. Reminder for next time, Zev Simon.
Cher, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Lily James, Julie Walters, it
is a jam-packed all-star cast, how can you go wrong with that? I’m not a big ABBA fan, a whole
movie singing those songs does not sound great, yet it was.
There was two casts as one was set in the past and the other in present. This helped tell the
story and understand the characters. Playing fun ABBA songs like “When I Kissed the Teacher”,
“Dancing Queen” results in spectacular costumes and dances.
It feels like another lifetime since I saw Cher perform. She possesses a larger than life persona
on and off screen and you feel it when she finally shows up. She is not the main character, but it
feels like she is the main attraction. Unfortunately, Cher did state on Twitter, “I must admit…I fkn
Hate Wrestling! Sorry” which is a shame because she could have been bigger than Miss
So there it is. How I found enjoyment in this. I also found lines like “be still my beating vagina” and imaging Zev kissing a teacher flooded my brain with dopamine. For my bloodlust I watch Omega VS.
Okada 4, for entertainment I prefer this over what they give me on Monday Night RAW recently.
