March 21, 2012 – Calgary, Alberta – The Ultimate Fighting Championship® returns to Canada with an unprecedented three events in 2012 as Calgary, Toronto and Montreal will each host Pay-Per-View events. The UFC® will make its first-ever trip to Calgary, Alberta as it visits the Scotiabank Saddledome for UFC® 149 on Saturday, July 21. Toronto will then host its third-ever event on Saturday, September 22 (venue to be confirmed) while Montreal will see a return to UFC® action on Saturday, November 17 at the Bell Centre.

Additionally, the UFC® announced a further commitment to Canada with three global annual events taking place through to the year 2014. Montreal and Toronto’s events will become mainstays through that period.

“Canadians have shown time and again how much they love the UFC,” said UFC® President Dana White. “Their events have set global records since we first visited in 2008 and four years later, we’re proud to be bringing Canada three action-packed UFC events each year for the next three years.”

“It’s been our vision to host three annual premier events as our fans have proved they have an appetite for that and even more,” said UFC® Director of Canadian Operations Tom Wright. “From coast to coast to coast, we’ve been fortunate to have such loyal MMA fans, and business and government partners. We can’t wait to show Calgary and the rest of Canada what the UFC is all about – something our fans in Toronto and Montreal have experienced and continuously want more of.”

More information about the three Canadian dates in 2012, including main event matchups, undercard bouts and ticket sale dates and prices, will be announced at a later date.

The proposed UFC 145 on March 24th at the Bell Centre in Montreal has officially been delayed. During UFC 140 weekend it was announced by Welterweight competitor Rory MacDonald that he would be facing British slugger Che Mills in Montreal on the 24th. Since then the UFC has announced seven more bouts, but no main event. The UFC had recently added three more bouts to card including Mac Danzig versus Efrian Escudero, John Makdessi versus Anthony Njokuani, and the UFC debut of Ringside MMA Welterweight champion Chris Clements versus Keith Wisniewski.

Ringside Report (www.ringsidereport.net) has been keeping tabs on the scheduled bouts and speculating a possible main event for the card. With the process of elimination of champions the only possible conclusion the Ringside Report crew could come up with was a possible Light Heavyweight championship bout between champion Jon Jones versus either Rashad Evans if he is successful and unscathed after his bout the Phil Davis on January 28th, or the STRIKEFORCE Light Heavyweight champion Dan Henderson.

The UFC is still planning on coming to Montreal in 2012 but is uncertain when that will be, but it will definitely not be on March 24th. The UFC attempted to secure a date in April for the Bell Centre, but was unsuccessful.

With the consideration of Montreal being the first Canadian city to host the UFC, and one of the promotions largest markets, it was reported that due to scheduling complications and a desire to bring a championship card is most likely the reasoning for the delay.

The most controversial match in Canadian and perhaps WWE history, Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels from Survivor Series 1997, is finally discussed between the two in WWE: Greatest Rivalries: Shawn Michaels VS. Bret Hart.

Not only do Hart and Michaels talk about their match from Montreal, but along with Jim Ross they take a look back at the start of their WWE careers and how they interacted with each other up until their last match. This is not your typical WWE DVD presentation as both Hart and Michaels throughout use terminology typically used by entertainers backstage or by hardcore fans. They openly talk about how certain shows were planned and the ideas they both presented.

“He kinda threw sh*t in my face. From that point on I told Vince (McMahon) I’m not putting him over,” says Hart on why he did not want to lose to Michaels at the Montreal pay-per-view. Hart explains at first they were friends, until Michaels started to develop an attitude problem right before Hart dropped the WWE Championship to Michaels at WrestleMania 12. Michaels admits to a cocky edge and that he was very self-centred. Michaels cannot remember a lot of his comments or actions against Hart and other superstars but he does not deny that he was a jerk.

“We worked ourselves into a shoot,” is what both agreed on in the end. Their interviews and actions against each other on television and off-camera started to create doubt in both their minds. Michaels completely blew up when Hart accidentally stretched an episode of RAW, causing the viewing audience to miss the Sweet Chin Music to end the show. Michaels fired back the next week with a “Sunny Days” comment that enraged the Hitman.

Michaels gets very emotional on how Hart opened up to him mere hours before the Montreal Screwjob. While Hart went through some horrifying dark times following his WWE days he did manage to get his life back on track and eventually let go a lot of hate and anger he had for Michaels.

Eight matches are featured on the DVD release and surprisingly the Survivor Series ’97 match is not one of them, you have to buy the Blu-ray version for it. While Hart and Michaels agree that the Rockers VS. Hart Foundation 2 out of 3 falls match for the WWE Tag Team Championships should have never made air it is a little frustrating to not see the entire match to fully understand what they are talking about.

There’s no question if you’re a Hart or Michaels fan you want to see this DVD. WWE gives their hardcore fans so much new material and enough classic footage to help educate new fans. This release is also enjoyable for fans that want the realistic issues in wrestling that rarely make TV. It’s quite possibly the most real home video release ever by WWE.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will likely be holding UFC 140 in Montreal on December 10, 2011 at the Bell Centre. UFC Director of Operations, Tom Wright, appeared Wednesday night on Ringside Report Radio and confirmed plans for UFC 140 on December 10 in Montreal. “We’ll do Vancouver on June 11 and then most likely we’ll be back in Montreal on December 10,” Wright said.

The UFC debuted in Montreal in April of 2008 at UFC 83 when Georges St-Pierre defeated Matt Serra to win the UFC welterweight championship. The UFC returned to the Bell Centre with Anderson Silva and Thales Leites for UFC 97 in April 2009 and Lyoto Machida- Shogun Rua for UFC 113 in May 2010 before the return of GSP in the UFC’s fourth Montreal show. St-Pierre defended his title in the UFC’s last visit to his home city in December 2010 at UFC 124 against Josh Koscheck.

GSP’s last bout was on April 30, 2011 at UFC 129 in Toronto, Ontario where he defeated Jake Shields via unanimous decision. When asked whether a rumoured bout between St-Pierre and Nick Diaz could take place in Montreal, Wright said it would be great to have GSP come back to Montreal but it was still too early to determine a main event for December. “Well I’ve heard about the Nick Diaz-GSP fight but it is too early (to tell),” Wright said.

While Wright stated that no final decisions have yet been made for UFC 140, he maintained that Montreal most likely hold an event in 2011. “We know how important this market is to us and putting on great fights,” Wright said. “It’s a great venue (Bell Centre), it’s a great fan-base, it’s a great environment. The energy in that building is as good as any building in North America. We’ll always have a soft spot for Montreal.”

<itunes:summary>The Ultimate Fighting Championship will likely be holding UFC 140 in Montreal on December 10, 2011 at the Bell Centre.

The UFC returned to the Bell Centre with Anderson Silva and Thales Leites for UFC 97 in April 2009 and Lyoto Machida- Shogun Rua for UFC 113 in May 2010 before the return of GSP in the UFC's fourth Montreal show.

The final D-Generation X run starting from HHH finding Shawn Michaels superkicking a little mouthy girl to their defeat as WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions is retold in DX: One Last Stand.

The new three-disc set released by WWE starts in the summer of 2009 and ends early in 2010. The disc set wraps up with the entire HBK farewell speech on RAW along with DX making fun of themselves for being so emotional.

From Vince McMahon’s 64th birthday bash to Little People’s Court with Hornswoggle, all the memorable promos and moments DX created on RAW are showcased. Full PPV matches against Legacy in a Hell in a Cell match and their Undisputed Tag Team Championship against Jeri-Show in a TLC match are also shown. Several celebrities made appearances with DX at this time which included Bob Barker, the wrestling debut of ‘The Flame’ Jon Heder and many others.

The new exclusive footage for the DVD are a few segments where HHH and HBK are in a tank trying to go hunting. In the special features on the first disc there is short look at DX behind the scenes of Monday Night RAW. The unfiltered clip shows DX in script rehearsals, going over their matches, making fun of Big Show and greeting HHH’s wife Stephanie McMahon behind the camera.

While the DVD focuses mainly on DX’s last run, there are many occasions during their segments where they show their 1997 antics along with their war with the McMahon family in 2006. The DVD set is definitely a must have if you missed on all the shenanigans DX pulled off. Not only did DX create memorable moments with well-known celebrities, but they also had some of the best tag matches they ever had as a unit. Unless HBK goes back on his retirement promise, this is definitely the last new DX DVD.

****Extreme Deathmatch****
*”Sick” Rick Lukas vs Paul Rosenberg*
At PWF Civil War both of these warriors found themselves in all-out brawls with their respective opponents. Paul Rosenberg wound up suffering several disfigurations and internal injuries, but still managed to choke out Mathieu St-Jacques for a hard-fought victory. His upcoming opponent “Sick” Rick Lukas took part in the most violent and bloodiest match of the night, where he was thrown through a car door, attacked with chairs, frying pans, and other weapons. He may have not won the match, but what he did win was the love and admiration of all the fans in attendance. This infuriated PWF owner Andy Rossetti, who ordered the 400lb. “Son of Abdullah“ Soa Amin to enter the ring and assault Lukas with a fork. Rossetti claimed that this was the reason he came back to the wrestling business, because of people like Rick Lukas. Rossetti feels that the francophone wrestling fans never gave him the respect he is due, and is disgusted that they would cheer a beaten-down, bloody, loser like Lukas just because he is one of their own. As such Rossetti wants to make Lukas the sacrificial lamb of the francophones, and has ordered his own son Paul Rosenberg to get the job done for him in a fight to the finish…an Extreme Deathmatch. Who will be victorious? More importantly, who will survive?

****PWF Heavyweight Title****
*Jeremy Prophet vs Sylvain Grenier*
At PWF Civil War, fans witnessed the crowning of the first PWF Heavyweight Champion Jeremy Prophet, who won a hard fought battle with Soa Amin. Overcoming the 400lbs. Monster from the Sudan, was quite the task for The Prophet, yet standing in front of him this time is an even more formidable foe in the person of 4-time World Champion and former WWE superstar Sylvain Grenier. Known to some as Sylvan or Sly, Sylvain Grenier is not just a living legend of Quebec wrestling, but is on the fast track to becoming a pop culture icon in Quebec. Seen by millions on RDS` weekly broadcasts of TNA Impact, Grenier`s noteriety is spread the world over, but nowhere stronger than here in Quebec. Having been a mainstay in the WWE for close to 5 years, Grenier is a seasoned veteran, who is looking to add the PWF title to his list of accomplishments, along with adding further insult to his opponent The Prophet. Many feel Prophet is the future and will be the next to follow in Grenier`s footprints in making it to the WWE. Having already competed on Smackdown, many feel he is already there, yet to finally cement these claims he must defeat the man who was a star of Smackdown for many years Sylvain Grenier. Fans at the last show saw that Jeremy Prophet is a master of all aspects of the wrestling game, and fights like no other…However Sylvain Grenier, an exceptional performer in his own right, takes a back seat to no one. Will the torch finally be passed to the next generation? Or will Grenier be able to resist the dynamic resilliancy of The Prophet?

****Elimination Match****
*Boogli vs Dan Rosenberg vs Maredes vs Bi le Guerrier*
An Elimination match will be held to showcase the top of PWF`s young talent. Those looking to catch management`s attention an make a name for themselves will be fighting it out to prove that they are the next big star of the PWF. The first entrant in this match was the son of PWF owner Andy Rossetti, Dan Rosenberg. Rosenberg wants to redeem himself for his defeat at the hands over Maredes, but he will once again have to contend with Maredes as he will be part of this match as well. We will also see the debut of Bi Le Guerrier; The Asian Warrior will grace PWF with his presence after an extended hiatus, and looks to pick up where he left off, which spells trouble for all those in his path. The Mayan Sensation Boogli has also chosen to be part of this match in order to showcase his true talent on a grander stage. These men will be joined by a few surprises that will be sure to shock those in attendance.

****PWF Divas match****
*Anastasia Ivy vs Loue*
At the last PWF event Anastasia Ivy scored a sound victory over Eve. This time, the Queen of The Night seeks to continue her reign of terror on Sherbrooke`s Loue. Both sexy and stunning Loue combines high-impact striking with smooth as silk agility, to leave her opponents in a whirlwind of defeat. While not being the biggest, she still has a fighting spirit on par with the best of them and uses her opponents underestimation of her, to her advantage. Anastasia instills fear in her opponents, while being the perfect balance of darkness and grace, but at PWF Resistance she will be facing a diva who can offset those qualities and is gifted with the speed of light. In this battle of good and evil, speed and power, dark and light, who will be the last women standing?

****Tag Team Extravaganza****
*The Twin Terrors vs Lex & Rex Lerman vs The Latino Connection*
Three teams will do battle at Resistance in hopes of climbing the tag team ranks and becoming the first PWF Tag Team champions. The Twins were already victorious at the last PWF event, and another victory could get them a first place seat in the upcoming tag team title tournament. They take on the debuting father-son duo of Lex & Rex Lerman, as well as the brothers Super Chato & Latino Kid in this tag team extravaganza.

****Genesis vs Sexxxy Eddy****
Two combattants with something to prove will do battle when the 6`4“ 245lbs. man of mystery Genesis takes on The Triple X Sex Xxxpress Sexxxy Eddy. At PWF Civil War, Sexxxy Eddy did the bidding of Andy Rossetti and scored a victory over Rick Lukas in a violent and bloody encounter. Now Eddy is looking to cement his dominance as the most hardcore wrestler in the history of the Quebec wrestling scene. Very few would lay objection to that claim, however one man has taken up the challenge to fight Eddy on that claim, that man is Genesis. Genesis has never been one to back down from a challenge or a fight. Hailing from the Dark Woods of Hemmingford, Quebec, little is known about Genesis, however fans at the last show did witness him go toe to toe with the violently derranged Hannibal, and match him blow for blow. Having proven to be as violent and deadly as Hannibal, one has to wonder if Sexxxy Eddy has perhaps bitten off more than he can chew in this upcoming battle.

****Mixed Tag Team Match****
*“Speedball” Mike Bailey & Eve vs Shayne Hawke & She Nay Nay*
Many were left speechless following the spectacular 1 on 1 matchup at the last PWF event between Mike Bailey and Shayne Hawke. A match so impressive that many overlooked the reason it took place, that being due to Shayne Hawke attacking Eve earlier on in the evening. Hawke made it very clear that he detests women, a hatred surpassed only by his hatred for Mike Bailey. Hawke now finds himself taking on both Eve and Bailey, but in his corner will be a very experienced and well-known diva She Nay Nay. Having made an impact in OVW as well as wrestling on WWE Smackdown She Nay Nay is not one to take lightly, and boasts a very impressive resume. Will Bailey and Eve teach Hawke some respect? Or will the duo of Hawke and She Nay Nay be just too much for them to deal with?

****Hannibal open challenge****
Wrestling’s most dangerous man “The Apocalyptic Nightmare” Hannibal makes his return to Quebec wrestling. Following a short hiatus to train for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers in freestyle wrestle, Hannibal makes his return on Saturday April 9th, challenging anyone to come face him. At Civil War a challenge was laid out for the 6`9“ 300lb. Darkko, who ended up declining to face Hannibal. This time at Resistance, Hannibal is extending his challenge to anyone who would have the guts to face him. But to any of those out there thinking of contacting us about this opportunity, understand that Hannibal is an undefeated grappler, submission wrestler, as well as amateur wrestler, and that stepping in the ring with him(while a great opportunity to make a name for one’s self), is a definite risk to one’s well being. Nevertheless Hannibal has made this challenge public and we will wait to see who accepts.

Quebec’s biggest MMA promotion Ringside will be hold their 10th event on April 9th, 2011 at the Bell Centre in Downtown, Montreal for the first time. One of the most stacked cards that the promotion has ever put together, Ringside 10: Côté vs. Starnes rapidly approaches and promises to be their best card yet. On top of a UFC veterans main event of Patrick Côté versus Kalib Starnes; the card was originally set for 10 bouts that featured three championship bouts, in the Light Heavyweight, Welterweight, and Featherweight divisions. Now the card will still feature the featherweight championship bout between Mitch Gagnon and Réjean Groulx, but with Chris Clements and Steve Bossé pulling out of their title defenses due to injury changes have been made. An interim welterweight championship bout between undefeated Alex Garcia and TUF contestant Seth Baczynski will take place, and Martin Désilets replaces Bossé against Roger Hollett in a #1 contender’s bout. If Désilets were to win this bout it would set up the Quebec MMA super fight between he and Bossé.

Ringside matchmaker Joey Benoit was able to secure new opponents for those bouts, but unfortunately for light heavyweight prospect Guillaume Vigneau it’s not the case. Vigneau’s opponent Lyfield Chambers has pulled from the bout due to injury. English translation: “Sorry everybody, but I’m not fighting at the Bell Centre this Saturday, my opponent was injured a few days ago and nobody has accepted to fight me on short notice….I will fight soon, I’ll keep you posted.”

Even with these card changes made to this card, it’s still stacked with the top stars in Quebec MMA, such as Derek Gauthier, Guillaume Lamarche, Iraj Hadin, and the returns of Mike Ricci and Valerie Letourneau. The card will also feature the heavyweight rematch between Lenard Terrance and Robert Masson from Rising Star 1.

Charles, the UGC president and Canadian super middleweight boxing champion, battled Skidmore in a ring in a mixed martial arts fight on the MMA/boxing event. “Ali! Ali!” Even before Charles made his way out the Montreal crowd was pumped to see Charles’ 12th MMA bout. Charles had a 6-5 MMA record going in to fight and Skidmore was 3-17.

The start was a tentative one for both warriors, each sporting their own focused determined looks. Each one traded leg kicks and fake jabs to start. Despite the slow start the crowd got even louder with their chants of ”Ali! Ali!” Almost feeding off the crowd, Charles nailed a hard leg kick that could be heard throughout the building.

However, there was a gasp in the air when Charles went for another kick and Skidmore caught it and pushed Charles into the ground and pound position. Despite being put into the main event on short notice and a less than impressive MMA record, Skidmore had the entire crowd worried as Charles had a difficult time escaping Skidmore on the ground.

In the second round Charles took back the momentum by delivering nasty knee shots and close punches to Skidmore. Skidmore tried a takedown soon afterwards, but Charles blocked it. Skidmore tried to attack Charles in a corner, but out of nowhere Charles countered with his elbow strikes and was relentless with them. Charles continued to bash away on Skidmore’s skull even after Skidmore went down, but soon afterwards the ref stopped the fight.

For the fans last night it was a perfect way to end the evening. Not a long fight, but Charles looked like he was in trouble until he ended it in with unbelievable strikes.

In other action, Arash Usmanee, the NABA super featherweight champion improved to 11-0 after corner stoppage in a five round fight against Isaac Bejarano. Similar to his December bout where he won the belt, Usmanee was dominating with his body-jab combo. Bejarano was able to land some decent counter punches and was able to take a lot of Usmanee’s uppercuts and hooks. “That’s right over and under,” yelled out Russ Anber from Usmanee’s corner and once Usmanee got the timing right Bejarano’s face was becoming more bruised and bloody. It only took 1:40 into the fifth for Bejarano’s corner to realize that he was just getting destroyed.

In one of many quick fights on the night, Jonathan Belair went down in defeat to Michael Imperato in the most exciting 34 straight seconds of the night. With the crowd buzzing right from the start, Imperato came out swinging and tried a huge takedown on Belair early. Belair blocked the takedown, but Imperato keep pushing Belair until he fell. Belair gave up his back quickly on the ground and Imperato wasted no time in locking on a near-naked choke for the submission victory.

Although there was a lot more MMA than boxing, both sports were well accepted by the crowd. Given the downtown location, Metropolis is a great venue for fans that like to watch their fights up close. For details on upcoming UGC events keep an eye on their website, www.ugccombat.tv.
