Mixed Fight League has announced their second MMA event to take place on February 27, 2010 at Centre Claude-Robillard in Montreal, Quebec. “We’re particularly proud of our first event, “said the promoter, Dirk Waardenburg, a former MMA fighter. “It went so good that some TV channels such as The Fight Network and RDS already manifested their intentions to broadcast the inaugural event soon. However, details and dates remain to be confirmed”. His partner, Guy Poulin added: “We’re more than satisfied of the results of « MFL 1: The Beginning» and we are looking further to level up the production for the upcoming event. Don’t miss it up because we’re working hard to make this event memorable and settle up the most explosive matchups possible for our supporting and already growing fans base”.

Derek Gauthier (5-0) will once again be fighting for the MFL after defeating American fighter Mike Medrano at their inaugural event on October 17, 2009. Gauthier’s opponent has yet to be named but he is expected to be the main event fight.

Former Ultimate Fighter contestant and 1-0 in the UFC, Tom Murphy (5-0) will make his second appearance for the MFL to face a fellow undefeated heavyweight Bruno “Le Commando” Hosier (3-0). Murphy dominated Jason Cecil in his last fight with a rear-naked choke submission victory in the second round. Hosier also was dominant in his last fight defeating Aaron Dupuis by sitting on his opponent and punching him into first round at Warrior 1 MMA’s: High Voltage event in October of this year.

Other fighters confirmed for MFL 2: Battleground include (3-4) Derek Waardenburg, (1-0) Bruno Lurette, (1-0) Alex Garcia and (1-0) Joey Gambino.
