Canadian mixed-martial artist Sarah Kaufman was interviewed on this broadcast to talk about her fight this Friday night to crown the first ever women’s bantamweight champion in Strikeforce. Kaufman will compete for the title in the main event against Takayo Hashi in San Jose, California and will air live on the Showtime channel in the United States, SuperChannel in Canada.

Dave and Kevin reviewed UFC 110 and talked about the fallout from the card. They also discussed Frank Mir’s recent comments about UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Dave Simon and Kevin “Big Tuna” McKough also reviewed WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per view, Monday night’s Raw and the debut episode of WWE NXT. Dave and Kevin talked about the already booked matches for Wrestlemania and much more MMA and Pro Wrestling on this podcast.

John Cena won the WWE title in the first Elimination Chamber match of the evening by making Triple H tap out to his STF submission hold. Triple H eliminated then champion, Sheamus, by executing his signature Pedigree and covering him for the 1-2-3. Sheamus eliminated Kofi Kingston with the Sheamus Bomb, Kofi eliminated Ted Dibiase after hitting his Trouble in Paradise. Ted DiBiase did advance his storyline with Randy Orton in the match by hitting Orton with a lead pipe that had been tossed into the cage by Cody Rhodes. Ted DiBiase eliminated Randy Orton from the match after the pipe hit and an FU or Attitude Adjustment by John Cena.

Drew McIntyre made the first pay-per-view defence of his Intercontinental Title by defeating Kane in a ten-minute match. McIntyre hit Kane with his Future Shock DDT finisher after a thumb to the eye of the “Big Red Monster”.

Gail Kim and Maryse were supposed to wrestle the final match in a tournament to crown a new WWE Divas champion but a tag-team match took place instead. Prior to the match, Vickie Guerrero announced that due to disparaging comments, made by Raw divas about the Smackdown divas, she was going to change the match. Michelle McCool and Layla picked up the victory over Maryse and Gail Kim in a four-minute match after Maryse refused to tag-in to the match. Kim was battered by her opponents in the ring and pinned by McCool, Maryse hit her signature DDT on Kim after the match.

William Regal cut an in-ring promo about WWE’s new show called NXT.  Regal will be one of the pros that will mentor rookie wrestlers in the reality-based show. Regal began to cut a heel promo about demanding respect but was interrupted in the ring by Edge. The Royal Rumble winner, Edge, announced that he will be choosing his opponent for Wrestlemania tomorrow night on Raw. Edge then speared William Regal and posed for the crowd.

The Miz defended his United States title by defeating MVP in an unadvertised but very entertaining match. In a hard fought battle that left The Miz bleeding, Miz pinned MVP after Big Show was able to land his KO punch on Montel Vontavious Porter. Miz’ tag team partner, The Big Show was ringside and sent MVP’s tag partner, Mark Henry through a ringside barricade. The Miz and MVP both delivered a very solid performance tonight.

CM Punk opened the Elimination Chamber match with an in-ring promo about saving his opponents. Punk faced R-Truth first and was able to eliminate him in less than five minutes with his Go To Sleep followed by a pinfall. The free time in the ring allowed Punk to cut another promo in the ring until Rey Mysterio entered the match. Mysterio hit a top rope hurricanrana on CM Punk that sent him crashing to the steel flooring. Mysterio then hit a top rope splash and covered Punk to eliminate him before the next participant could enter the match. Chris Jericho was then freed from his pod and almost made Mysterio submit to his Walls of Jericho until John Morrison entered the match and broke up the hold. John Morrison eliminated Mysterio via pinfall after his Starship Pain finishing move. The Undertaker was the final man to enter the match and eliminated John Morrison with a pin after a chokeslam on the steel flooring of the chamber. Chris Jericho and Undertaker wrestled each other for six minutes, until Shawn Michaels popped out from under the chamber’s floor. The Heartbreak Kid entered the ring and hit his Sweet Chin Music on The Undertaker. Jericho then pinned Taker to win the World Heavyweight Title.
