The Rock’s grand return to WWE, the bitter rivalry for the World Heavyweight Championship between Randy Orton and Christian, the pipebomb promo CM Punk dropped, all in The Best of Raw and Smackdown 2011 DVD.

Four discs filled with many shocking and emotional moments coming from both shows. On Smackdown, The retirement of Edge and having to give up the World Heavyweight Championship came out of nowhere. The rise of Sin Cara in WWE as he faces off with some of the best in WWE in Daniel Bryan, Christian, and having a Mask VS. Mask match against another wrestler also called Sin Cara.

The Rock first promo bashing John Cena and making fun of Michael Cole is featured, but unfortunately the moments where The Rock was physically involved with Cena are only in the Blu-Ray edition. Stone Cold Steve Austin’s return along with JBL’s short return is also in the DVD set, for fans of the WWE Attitude era there were particular moments that were worth watching. The most controversial RAW moment of 2011 was Punk’s shoot on how he does not like the way WWE is ran. Vince McMahon being relived of his duties is shown soon afterwards, watching the DVD set you can tell WWE was extremely interesting to watch in the summer of 2011.

Usually WWE releases a Best of Smackdown or Best of RAW box set, but this flows a lot better. The switch between the heavy drama that goes on in RAW compared to the amount of action that occurs on Smackdown, fans get a great variety of matches and promos as a result. If you missed or want to relive WWE 2011, this set is a great way to do it. However the Blu-ray edition is the complete version.

HHH in the first Ladder Sledgehammer match and the crowning of Daniel Bryan as World Heavyweight Champion.

TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2011 delivered some of the most shocking and exciting moments in WWE last year with a solid card from start to finish. Zack Ryder, after creating a huge following and chasing Dolph Ziggler for the WWE United States Championship, made the most of his opportunity at TLC. Ryder competed in the greatest match of his career thus far as his signature moves were spectacular and the final moments of the bout had a thrilling end.

In quite possibly the last match for Evan Bourne on WWE home video, Bourne and his partner Kofi Kingston defended the WWE Tag Team Championships against Primo and Epico. This match started a shift in the tag team division as Bourne and Kingston did not last much longer. Fast-paced matchup as possible the fastest competitors right now in WWE were all in this match. Don’t blink or you’ll miss the end to this one.

In a rare appearance, HHH returned to the ring to give his former friend Kevin Nash one final match. With a sledgehammer hanging above the ring. HHH and Nash nailed each other with ladders with HHH targeting the vertical base of Nash almost throughout the fight. Nash looked strong and powerful throwing HHH around, but in the end HHH with the help of a ladder, table and sledgehammer quite possibly ended the wrestling career of Nash.

Daniel Bryan stated he was going to cash in his Money In The Bank contract at WrestleMania 28, however, Bryan saw after Big Show had won the World Heavyweight Championship, Show was completely vulnerable and Bryan took advantage. Bryan immediately got in the face of Michael Cole, who has been criticizing him ever since he returned to WWE, creating an amazing moment for fans waiting for Bryan to get his due in WWE.

In the main event CM Punk fought off the challenge of The Miz and Alberto Del Rio in a TLC match to successfully defend the WWE Championship. Del Rio in his second straight TLC main event took the fight to both Punk and Miz showing a more aggressive side than usual. Punk, handcuffed to the ring, was able to take apart the ring in order to fight back and take down both of his opponents climbing the ladder.

Once again WWE made their year-end events some of their best of the year. WWE fans that enjoyed the Best Pay-Per-View Matches of 2011, need to get this DVD to complete the set as quite a few matches on TLC should have been on that box set.

WWE has selected The Undertaker VS. HHH from WrestleMania 27 as their match of 2011 and it’s only one of 14 big matches chosen by WWE as part of their Best Pay-Per-View Matches 2011 DVD set.

From the Royal Rumble in Jan. 2011 to Vengeance in Oct. 2011, nearly every major WWE event on PPV is relived in some way. The Smackdown Elimination Chamber match for the World Heavyweight Championship, the controversial John Cena VS. CM Punk WWE Championship match from Money In The Bank 2011, the No Holds Barred match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Christian and Randy Orton, nearly all of the major matches and feuds are shown. Due to how he start to change the direction of the WWE and got fans to tune back in, the video montage of Punk chasing Cena at MITB 2011 is also featured.

Unfortunately, The Rock’s return to action and the exciting matches of WWE’s latest PPV TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2011 are not in this set. However, with over 500 minutes you’re definitely getting a great deal if you have not seen what was picked. Orton VS. Mark Henry from Night of Champions 2011 was not as enjoyable to watch as their rematch from Hell in a Cell 2011, but due to the historic nature of their first bout it is understandable that WWE made their choice based on the unique moment. The same can be said for Orton VS. Christian, while their Summerslam 2011 encounter was good, their Over The Limit 2011 title bout was arguably the best in their series of matches.

A great buy for fans that missed out on certain or most of WWE in 2011. Since not every match gets an introduction or the back story behind it, some of the drama can be lost to fans jumping right into it. Unlike other WWE home video releases there is no extra or bonus content added.

One of the biggest WWE events from 1993 to 2002 was the King of the Ring event that every year featured a grueling tournament and some of the greatest matches in WWE history.

Mankind versus The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, Kurt Angle VS. Shane McMahon in a Street Fight, the end of Hulkamania when Yokozuna defeated Hulk Hogan to capture the WWE Championship, are just a few matches considered some of the memorable matches that took place at the retired PPV spectacular.

The main idea behind the KOTR was to elevate a superstar to the main event scene or towards a reign as WWE Champion. Despite a few exceptions, the KOTR is rich in crowning some of the biggest superstars to ever compete in the squared circle. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Edge, all their quests to capture the KOTR crown is featured. Hart is considered the only star to capture the KOTR twice as the WWE officially counts the tournaments WWE held in the 80′s, although ’93 is the first one shown.

Rarely shown on WWE home video releases, Brock Lesnar and Owen Hart’s KOTR wins help give new fans an idea of the great in-ring ability Owen Hart had in the ring. For fans that only saw Lesnar compete in mixed martial arts, his rise to the top in the WWE started against Rob Van Dam in the last KOTR shown on PPV. WWE does include the return of the tourney in 2006 when Bobby Lashley battled Booker T. The KOTR finals of 2008 and 2010 are also included, CM Punk against William Regal is one of the hardest hitting bouts on the set.

A great blast from the past for older WWE fans and a must for new WWE fans that never saw the 90′s era or WWE in the early 21st century. While it is a great set there is definitely a few great matches that could have been added, Kane VS. Austin from KOTR ’98 and Owen Hart VS. 1-2-3 Kid are just two of many great encounters not listed.
