NASHVILLE, Tennessee (January 19, 2012) – TNA Entertainment, LLC announced today a partnership with Endemol India Pvt. Limited to produce “Ring Ka King,” a professional wrestling show for India that will also feature several TNA superstars. The show will air on the Colors Network Saturday and Sunday nights, with the debut airing Saturday, January 28, 2012.

“Ring Ka King,” host is the legendary Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh. The show will feature a cast of Indian superstars, as well as such TNA superstars as Abyss, Matt Morgan, Mickie James, Magnus and Scott Steiner. The partnership with TNA Entertainment, producer of IMPACT WRESTLING and Endemol India, a world leader in entertainment programming, is the first co-production for the two companies.

“The international market for professional wrestling is expanding,” states TNA Entertainment Executive Vice President Andy Barton. “Until now, most professional wrestling content has been exported from the United States. This partnership brings TNA’s expertise in producing professional wrestling programming and Endemol’s vast experience in content creation and distribution to a localized, scalable product for the Indian market.”

Executive producer Jeff Jarrett added, “Professional wrestling fans around the world have always related to one of their own, and the lack of properly trained talent and the infrastructure to produce a high quality professional wrestling show have always been a hindrance to create this type of program. With the tag team of TNA Entertainment and Endemol, we have the perfect one-two punch to bring the concept to fruition.”

TNA and Endemol have created a professional wrestling school in Mumbai to develop Indian talent. A three city casting call was held to engage and identify candidates for the school.

One of the biggest WWE events from 1993 to 2002 was the King of the Ring event that every year featured a grueling tournament and some of the greatest matches in WWE history.

Mankind versus The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, Kurt Angle VS. Shane McMahon in a Street Fight, the end of Hulkamania when Yokozuna defeated Hulk Hogan to capture the WWE Championship, are just a few matches considered some of the memorable matches that took place at the retired PPV spectacular.

The main idea behind the KOTR was to elevate a superstar to the main event scene or towards a reign as WWE Champion. Despite a few exceptions, the KOTR is rich in crowning some of the biggest superstars to ever compete in the squared circle. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Edge, all their quests to capture the KOTR crown is featured. Hart is considered the only star to capture the KOTR twice as the WWE officially counts the tournaments WWE held in the 80′s, although ’93 is the first one shown.

Rarely shown on WWE home video releases, Brock Lesnar and Owen Hart’s KOTR wins help give new fans an idea of the great in-ring ability Owen Hart had in the ring. For fans that only saw Lesnar compete in mixed martial arts, his rise to the top in the WWE started against Rob Van Dam in the last KOTR shown on PPV. WWE does include the return of the tourney in 2006 when Bobby Lashley battled Booker T. The KOTR finals of 2008 and 2010 are also included, CM Punk against William Regal is one of the hardest hitting bouts on the set.

A great blast from the past for older WWE fans and a must for new WWE fans that never saw the 90′s era or WWE in the early 21st century. While it is a great set there is definitely a few great matches that could have been added, Kane VS. Austin from KOTR ’98 and Owen Hart VS. 1-2-3 Kid are just two of many great encounters not listed.

Bloodstained Memoirs features exclusive interviews with an all-star pro wrestling cast of Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Christian Cage, Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka, Ultimo Dragon, Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly), Keiji Muto (The Great Muta) and Rob Van Dam.

The documentary is very dated (2005) and was dubbed as “The most anticipated wrestling documentary of all-time,” for the shocking comments made by some of the stars. While the interviews lack direction at times, there is no question that fans will be stunned by what they hear. Steroids, tragic deaths, and crooked higher-ups in the business are just a few of the interesting topics discussed.

It’s obvious that the director/filmmaker wrote down a series of questions and never swayed away from his script, no matter what the answer was from the wrestler. Roddy Piper was definitely one of the highlights of the documentary as he gave great insight on how the industry has changed from getting ahead by being talented to scripted nonsense. He talked about wrestlers purposely hurting other wrestlers physically and there was some juicy stuff there. That specific subject was very interesting and could have been elaborated on, but the subject is changed randomly to Bret Hart for no reason. Other wrestlers on the DVD give some interesting insight on different subjects pertaining to wrestling, while others are lackluster. It is disappointing that Chris Jericho simply discusses Fozzy on a “wrestling” documentary and as oppose to an interview with Mick Foley, the DVD has footage of him at a book signing.

The filmmaker is clearly a fan/friend of Joe Legend (Just Joe in WWE) as he asked Christian Cage about him as opposed to interesting questions about his own career. The extras (which the DVD is jam-packed with) have Legend in other projects featuring a problem he had with a wrestler and a women of interest for Legend.

Fans of shoot wrestling DVDs will definitely want to pick this up. Despite the faults of a clear direction there is too many must-see interviews that will give even smart fans an informative look at some of their wrestling favourites. Controversial and more negative than positive towards how wrestling federations operate, the DVD will leave you wanting more.

Their track record speaks for itself. The program is akin to a college scholarship program where talent is provided a scholarship style agreement with TNA to learn the craft. The talent to attend the program is selected by TNA’s Prichard and TNA officials who will be monitoring the progress of each wrestler at camp and the live events.

The biggest acquisition by Total Non stop Action during the Monday Night Wars of 2010 was the shocking return of Jeff Hardy to pro wrestling to TNA instead of back to WWE.

Hardy’s personal life and entire return to TNA is covered in the brand new TNA 2-disc DVD release TNA: Enigma: The Best of Jeff Hardy Volume 2. Hardy takes you to his home, his mother’s grave, showing you his artistic side, and the impact of having a daughter now.

Hardy made his return to TNA in dramatic fashion, on the first live Monday night Impact! show that competed with WWE’s Monday Night Raw. Hardy was one of the main stars on RAW for years and to see him on the rival company show sent shockwaves throughout the wrestling industry.

Jeff Jarrett, Mr. Anderson, Beer Money, and many comments from Jeff’s brother Matt and Shannon Moore all add in their strong beliefs that Hardy is a “game changer.” Hardy’s return to TNA not only gives TNA more credibility as a number two company, but also makes fans want to tune in more as you never know what Hardy might do.

The biography eventually turns into a rundown of the most important matches Hardy has had since he made his comeback. Matches against Beer Money, Moore, Anderson several times all get their own pre-match commentary from Hardy and usually his opponent or opponents. The match and commentary that is the most eye-opening is Hardy’s bout with Kurt Angle from TNA No Surrender 2010.

Angle explains how he is on another level compared to most wrestlers and that Hardy needed to bring his game up in order to compete with Angle. Angle believes Hardy did that and that they could have wrestled for three hours with the way they were going that night. If you have not seen that match this DVD is worth buying just for that match alone.

Like most TNA bio DVDs there is a lot of repeated footage over and over again and it can be a little annoying to see the same Hardy moves over and over again. However, for fans of Hardy hoping that he can turn his career around this DVD tries to be a positive step in that direction. There is no talk about Hardy’s poor performance against Sting at TNA: Victory Road 2011, but the DVD does end with the hope that when Hardy returns to TNA he will be without his demons.
