Episode 3. February 4, 2013- Uriah Hall (7-2, Team Sonnen) Adam Cella (4-0, Team Jones) will be the fight on this episode. Hall was selected 2nd by Team Sonnen, 3rd overall in the draft. Cella was selected 6th by Team Jones, 12th overall in the draft.
Cella tells Hall that they will have an entertaining fight because they will stand and bang. Hall is not willing to admit anything about his strategy.
Team Jones is happy with Team Sonnen’s fight selection.
Kevin Casey confronts Bubba McDaniel about challenging him and says it was a “weak move” because Casey has a cut on his eye from his previous bout. Casey also admits to McDaniel that he would be a bad match-up for him in the first round.
Uriah Hall talks about coming to the United States from Jamaica at the age of thirteen and being bullied. Hall says Josh Samman (Team Jones) said something that rubbed him the wrong way and felt like he was a bully. Hall says he wants to call out Samman after his fight.
Chael Sonnen says Uriah Hall is the best athlete and has more talent than anyone else on the show. Sonnen says Hall wants to finish first in everything.
Kevin Casey and Uriah Hall were shown sparring and Hall gets submitted with an arm-bar. Hall is upset and wants to go again. Casey says he is done. Hall says he learned to never be nice and is upset that he got submitted in training.
Adam Cella says his family owns a heating a cooling company and he has a job when he gets home. Cella says he doesn’t need to do fight like some other people. Cella says he wants to win this but doesn’t have to.
Jon Jones says Cella needs work on his ground-game and shows the team some elbowing techniques from inside the guard. Jones says Cella is a “little bit of an underdog” and he thinks half the guys in the house are afraid of Uriah Hall.
Chael Sonnen says Uriah Hall needs to stay aggressive to win the fight. Hall says he needs to win this tournament.
Uriah Hall asks Chael Sonnen about dealing with self-doubt. Sonnen gives him a heartfelt talk about losing fights at the 7-minute mark and going to see a sports psychologist to address the problem. Sonnen says Randy Couture told him that he also struggles with doubt but learns to compete with it. Sonnen tells him that it can be okay to lose.
Team Sonnen discusses Kevin Casey not wanting to fight Bubba McDaniel. Jimmy Quinlan (Team Sonnen) is the only to speak up when Uriah Hall asks the team who would fight McDaniel. Quinlan is disappointed with his team wanting to get an easy fight in the first round.
Dana White says he is very impressed with Uriah Hall and sees him as the top guy in the competition.
The Team Jones coaches arrive at the house with a dog and food for a BBQ. Jon Jones asks his team why they want to fight in the UFC. The fighters tell their stories and Jones sees it as a bonding experience for his team.
Uriah Hall says his game-plan will be to “keep it standing and maybe put on a show”.

Round 1- The fighters exchange jabs in the first minute. Cella charges forward but gets caught in a Muay-Thai clinch. Hall lands big knees to the face and body in the clinch. Cella pushes away and lands a right hand but Hall fires back with two punches. Hall catches a kick and takes Cella down to the mat. Hall lands an elbow from inside the guard but stands up when Cella attempts an arm-bar. Cella gets to his feet but is knocked down with a push-kick to the gut. Cella jumps back up but takes a leg kick and a jab. Cella lands a kick to the body but Hall responds with one of his own. Hall lands a leg kick and another push kick that knocks down Cella. Hall gets a clinch and scores a knee to the body. Cella escapes and lands a punch to the body and a right hand to the head. Hall lands a leg kick and a good jab. Cella lands a strong jab of his own but Hall fires back. Hall throws a brilliant spinning-back kick to the head that knocks Adam Cella unconscious.

Adam Cella did not get up and looked very hurt after the knockout. Uriah Hall looked concerned and the gym was quiet as medical staff attended to Cella. Adam Cella wakes up and does not know what happened. Cella gets to his feet but is confused.
Dana White calls it one of the nastiest knockouts he has ever seen in the fight business.
Uriah Hall says it feels good but also feels bad for hurting Adam Cella.
Referee Steve Mazzagatti tells Team Jones that Adam Cella will be fine but will go to the hospital for a CAT scan. Jon Jones goes to the hospital with Cella.
Coach Chael Sonnen selects Kevin Casey (5-2,Team Sonnen) to fight Collin Hart (4-1, Team Jones) on next week’s TUF 17 Middleweight Tournament-Round of 14 bout. Casey was selected 6th by Team Sonnen, 11th overall in the draft. Hart was selected 5th by Team Jones, 10th overall in the draft.
Bubba McDaniel is disappointed he will not get to fight Kevin Casey in the first round. Chael Sonnen says he knows Team Jones wanted Casey to fight McDaniel and believes the fight will happen later in the tournament.
