DREAM and World Victory Road Sengoku co-promoted the new year’s eve Dynamite! show in Japan. The event featured fighters from DREAM facing fighters from Sengoku as well as matches fought under K-1 rules.
Shinya Aoki defeated Mizuto Hirota with a reverse-hammerlock turned into a kimura that broke Hirota’s arm. Aoki then flipped off his opponent and the crowd before sprinting back to the dressing room. Aoki’S victory was essential for Dream to beat Sengoku on this night, 5 wins to 4.
Alistair Overeem scored a quick knockout with a knee to the face of Fujita after just over one minute in the fight.
Mousasi scored an early double leg takedown of Gary Goodridge and worked some ground and pound to force the referee to step in. Mousasi earned a first round TKO while Goodridge popped to his feet after the ref stopped the fight and complained about the stoppage.
Melvin Manhoef scored a first round KO victory over Kazuo Misaki with a big left hook. Misaki looked unhappy with the stoppage as he felt he could have continued the fight.
Rameau Thierry Sokodjou controlled the first round landing several hard strikes on the feet and from the top position on the ground. Minowaman was able to survive the strikes and escape a rear-naked choke attempt to end the round. In the second round, the referee issued a yellow card for inactivity as both fighters were weary to engage. After several minutes without a strike landed, Minowaman attacked and landed a big left hand that dropped Sokodjou and forced the referee to intervene and stop the fight. Ikuhisa “Minowaman” Minowa earns the second round KO victory to win the DREAM Super-Hulk Tournament.
